Introducing a new governance scheme
With the twin growth engines up and running in Pohang and Gwangyang, we were ready to turn a chapter with a new POSCO identity.
POSCO listed on the New York Stock Exchange owing to its robust credit ratings, and introduced outside director and external audit system to enhance governance and transparency.
Privatized in 2000, POSCO sought continuous modernization by automating and upgrading processes. These efforts helped to transform POSCO steelworks into the world's most competitive steelmaking facilities.
