회사는 지난21일 오후 광양 5코크스 설비를 종합준공함으로써 연간 230만 톤의 코크스 공급 능력을 갖출 수 있게 됐습니다. 쇳물 생산의 핵심 연원료인 코크스의 수급난 해소와 값싼 원료를 활용한 원가경쟁력 향상이 기대됩니다.

Construction of the Gwangyang Coke 5 facilities were completed this past 21st, thus giving the Company the ability to supply an annual 2.3 million tons of coke. Cost competitiveness is expected to increase by resolving coke supply difficulties which is the core material in producing molten iron.

 

자막): 광양 5코크스 착공 38개월 만에 준공(12/21)

회사가 세계 최초의 초대형 코크스 생산설비라 불리는 광양 5코크스를 착공 38개월 만에 종합준공했습니다.

The Company completed the Gwangyang 5 Coke, the world’s first extra-large coke production facilities, 38 months after construction started.

 

정준양 회장 주재로 열린 준공식은 설비 시공급사와 관련 포스코패밀리 임직원 등 90여 명이 참석한 가운데 준공보고와 유공자 포상, 감사패 전달과 스위칭순으로 진행됐습니다.

The ceremony for completion hosted by Chairman Joonyang Chung held with 90 employees of the POSCO family, facility constructor, and providers present consisted of the construction completion report and award presentation to those of merit, delivery of an appreciation plaque, and switching.

 

자막): 코크스 100% 자가수급 능력 확보

5코크스준공으로 회사는 마침내 코크스 부족난을 완전히 극복하고 100% 자가 수급 능력을 확보했다고 밝혔습니다.

With the completion of 5 Coke, the Company announced that it can completely overcome the coke shortage, securing self-supply capability ratios of 100%.

 

앞으로 있을 1고로와 5고로의 개수이후 대형고로 가동에도, 또 출선량 2,300만 톤 체제 이상에서도 자력으로 코크스 공급이 가능해집니다.

Also, coke can be self-supplied even in a 23 million ton output system with the upcoming improvement projects of 1 furnace and 5 furnace and large furnace operation.

 

자막): 품질 및 원가경쟁력 탁월

뿐만 아니라 광양 5코크스의 품질과 원가경쟁력을 결정짓는 장입밀도와 냉간강도, 저가탄 사용비는 경쟁사보다 탁월한 성과를 내고 있습니다.

In addition, the Gwangyang 5 Coke is achieving superior results compared to competitors in charge density and cold strength, and usage rate of low-cost coal which determine quality and cost competitiveness.

 

이로 인한 금년도 원가절감액은 469억 원, 내년에는 647억 원을 예상합니다.

Cost reductions from these efforts are projected to be 46.9 billion KRW this year, and 64.7 billion KRW next year.

 

자막): 연산 230만 톤 코크스 생산

광양 5코크스는 석탄건조설비인 CMCP,5A 5B배터리로 나눠진 대형오븐, 건식소화 설비인 CDQ로 구성돼 연산 230만 톤의 코크스를 생산할 수 있습니다.

The Gwangyang 5 Coke consists of the CMCP (coil moisture control plant), large oven divided into the 5A 5B battery, CDQ (coke dry quenching) system, with an ability to produce 2.3 million tons of coke annually.

 

자막): 최적의 자력엔지니어링->투자비 절감, 공기단축

특히 5코크스 신설사업은 단 한건의 안전사고 없이 최적의 자력 엔지니어링으로 투자비 절감, 경쟁사 대비 짧은 공기, 정상조업도 또한 조기에 달성했습니다.

The coke 5 new facility construction project was completed with no safety accidents and achieved investment cost reductions, shorter construction period than competitors, and early regular operations through the most optimized engineering by the Company.

한편 이날 준공 현장에서는 직원들을 비롯해 정준양 회장의 새해소망을 카드에 담아 크리스마스 트리의 불을 밝히고 희망찬 새해를 염원했습니다.
